What You'll Do9

- 4Obtain referrals and authorizations when required, navigating online insurance portals.
- 5Scan incoming faxes, consents, and reports into patient charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- 6Schedule follow-ups and office visits, coordinating with providers and clinical staff on delays.
- 7Respond to patient inquiries with courtesy, protecting PHI by logging off computers and securing documents.
- 8Keep medical supplies stocked by monitoring inventory and placing orders.
- 9Ensure proper handoff of tasks and complete assigned duties with punctuality.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years of customer service experience required, with medical office experience preferred.
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- 3Skill in Microsoft Office and navigating EMRs.
- 4Knowledge of medical terminology and basic health insurance products (HMO, PPO, HSA, Medicare).
- 5Ability to navigate online health insurance portals to verify benefits.
- 6Experience with CPT coding and ICD-10 diagnostic coding preferred.
- 7Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
- 8Basic knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
