Patient Service Representative, Healthcare Front Desk & Insurance Verification
Overview
The Patient Service Rep will own high-volume front desk operations at a Seattle area clinic, handling scheduling, insurance verification, chart maintenance, and payments for a 40-hour week. You’ll join a supportive team focused on patient service and strong internal collaboration. This role offers comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training in a locally owned practice. You’ll operate in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes accuracy and patient care.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain all patient charts and schedules to ensure accurate daily operations
- 2Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and manage patient payments while balancing cash nightly
- 3Own high-volume scheduling for next-day appointments and reminder calls
- 4Process all front desk tasks including filing, mail, and communication with referral sources
- 5Maintain daily statistical log sheets and reports to track follow-ups and performance
- 6Collaborate with billing and treating staff to resolve patient matters
- 7Communicate with OSS staff via Outlook and coordinate with clinical teams
- 8Prepare charts and records for daily operations and audits
- 9Support educational activities and participate in monthly staff meetings
Requirements10
- 1High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of related experience OR Equivalent education/experience
- 2Knowledge of insurance verification processes and office procedures
- 3Experience operating multi-line telephone systems and basic office equipment
- 4Proficiency with computer programs and ability to learn new software
- 5Strong written and oral communication skills with patients, staff, insurers, and referral sources
- 6Excellent organization, detail-orientation, and prioritization abilities
- 7Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- 8Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- 9Accessibility to onsite clinic in Federal Way with a willingness to work in a 40-hour workweek
