What You'll Do10

  • 1Build patient itineraries by coordinating internal and external referrals and scheduling multiple appointments.
  • 2Design and manage front desk operations, including check-in, copay collection, and MyChart activation to support daily clinic flow.
  • 3Ship and verify orders, pre-certifications, and pre-authorizations using the hospital information system, ensuring accuracy against physician orders.
  • 4Own patient data integrity by updating demographics, insurance verification, and MSPQ forms while protecting confidentiality.
  • 5Drive high-volume call handling and patient communications to provide accurate exam prep information and scheduling updates.
  • 6Scale scheduling for diverse appointment types including in-person, telehealth, surgeries, and ancillary services using Epic Cadence decision trees.
  • 7Lead post-visit scheduling for follow-up appointments and order entries, creating patient itineraries per provider orders.
  • 8Improve patient experience by communicating policies, assisting with self check-in, and supporting MyChart enrollment and online check-in.
  • 9Coordinate with care teams to ensure proper coverage, timely follow-ups, and efficient rooming of patients.
  • 10Collaborate on department huddles, process improvements, and training to raise scheduling quality and patient satisfaction.

Requirements9

  • 1High School Graduate or GED.
  • 2Six months direct customer service in a health care field.
  • 3Fluent English - read, write, speak, understand.
  • 4Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
  • 51 or more years direct customer service in a health care, hospital or contact center environment.
  • 6Knowledge of insurance types (HMO, PPO, VA, Medicare) and pre-certification requirements.
  • 7Experience with EMR and scheduling systems (Epic Cadence) preferred.
  • 8Ability to handle high volume calls and manage patient information with confidentiality.
  • 9Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills.
