Medical Clinic Coordinator - Patient Registration & Scheduling
Overview
You'll own patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification at a top area healthcare facility. Working weekdays from 8am to 4:30pm, you'll manage high-volume patient encounters and keep records accurate across electronic medical records and scheduling systems. You'll collaborate with providers and staff to ensure smooth clinic operations, with the ability to float to other locations as needed. This role stands out for its focus on front-end revenue cycle support and requires completion of Ambulatory Services training, including a mock clinic.
What You'll Do10
- 1Register patients and collect demographics, insurance, and billing information with accuracy.
- 2Schedule appointments and manage referrals and authorizations across multiple systems.
- 3Verify insurance coverage and screen for eligibility before patient visits.
- 4Collect co-payments and other patient financial responsibilities at check-in.
- 5Navigate electronic medical records and scheduling systems to maintain consistent patient data.
- 6Communicate professionally with patients, guardians, providers, and staff to resolve registration issues.
- 7Float to other clinics or Regional Outpatient Centers to support coverage needs.
- 8Complete required Ambulatory Services training and pass competency assessments, including a mock clinic.
- 9Escalate concerns or verification issues appropriately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- 10Manage high-volume patient service and telephone interactions while prioritizing accuracy and confidentiality.
Requirements10
- 11+ year performing patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, or front-end revenue cycle support.
- 2Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably outpatient clinic, physician practice, specialty clinic, or patient access department.
- 3Experience managing patient demographics, insurance, appointments, referrals, or authorizations preferred.
- 4Experience collecting co-payments or other patient financial responsibilities preferred.
- 5Typing speed of 35 WPM minimum.
- 6Working knowledge of computers and electronic healthcare systems.
- 7Experience with electronic medical records and scheduling systems preferred.
- 8Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- 9Ability to navigate multiple systems to verify patient information and ensure record accuracy.
- 10Must complete Ambulatory Services training, pass competency assessments, and maintain HIPAA compliance.
