Overview

You will deliver hands-on care in the outpatient Rheumatology, Genetics, and Infectious Disease clinics at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. You will support Registered Nurses with direct patient tasks, vitals, and documentation for a pediatric population with complex conditions. This role works day shifts in a 40-hour week at a Magnet-designated academic medical center. You will join a team where CNA or MA skills are essential, with a focus on compassionate, precise care for critically ill children.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Obtain and record patient vitals, height, and weight, documenting in EPIC within the first 90 days.
  • 2Assist RNs with examinations and procedures, preparing rooms and equipment for pediatric patients.
  • 3Perform point-of-care testing such as glucose checks and urine dips, ensuring accuracy in charting.
  • 4Communicate patient needs and changes to the care team, using SBAR handoff during shift changes.
  • 5Escort patients and families to exam rooms, providing age-appropriate support and instructions.
  • 6Stock exam rooms and maintain inventory of medical supplies, ensuring daily readiness.
  • 7Assist with patient intake, including medication lists and allergy documentation.
  • 8Clean and sterilize equipment per OSHA standards, maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements5

  • 1High school diploma or GED.
  • 2One year of clinical experience or successful completion of the intern program.
  • 3CNA certification, MA certification, or EMT certification.
  • 4BLS certification from AHA.
  • 5Nursing students or LPNs with completed fundamental nursing skills coursework are eligible.
