What You'll Do7

  • 1Collect and record routine patient data, including vital signs and intake/output, under nurse supervision
  • 2Perform basic patient care activities, such as bathing, positioning, and ambulation, to ensure comfort and safety
  • 3Report unusual findings, symptoms, and administered treatments to the appropriate healthcare professional promptly
  • 4Maintain inventory of stock items, supplies, and equipment to support efficient unit operations
  • 5Participate in in-service programs, meetings, and daily care rounds to stay current on care plan changes
  • 6Orient patients and families to unit policies and hospital systems, reinforcing education on procedures and safety
  • 7Model best practices and provide mentorship to students and new employees, sharing clinical knowledge

Requirements6

  • 11+ year of patient care experience in an acute care setting, with BLS certification required
  • 2High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a CNA or Medical Assistant program preferred
  • 3Ability to lift and transfer patients up to 50 pounds, with frequent standing and walking
  • 4Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • 5Basic computer proficiency for electronic health record documentation
  • 6Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
