Overview

You will deliver direct patient care and clinical support in an acute care setting at Heart Care of Maryland, serving a diverse patient population. You will assist nursing staff with daily activities, perform ECG monitoring, and execute procedures like IV insertion and phlebotomy. Working alongside a team of nurses and physicians, you will ensure patient safety and comfort while supporting emergency response. This role offers hands-on experience in cardiac rhythm analysis and BLS protocols, with paid training and free parking.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Assist nursing staff with patient hygiene, feeding, mobility, and comfort measures to ensure patient well-being
  • 2Perform clinical procedures including catheterization, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and suturing assistance with aseptic technique
  • 3Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate) and document accurately in patient records
  • 4Operate medical equipment such as cardiac event monitors and ventilators to support diagnosis and treatment
  • 5Conduct cardiac rhythm analysis and interpret ECGs to identify arrhythmias requiring immediate attention
  • 6Support emergency response by performing CPR and BLS procedures as needed
  • 7Maintain a clean and safe environment through infection control practices, including proper lifting techniques when moving patients or equipment

Requirements7

  • 11+ years of experience in hospital or acute care settings, preferably with emergency room exposure
  • 2Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
  • 3Proficiency in venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques
  • 4Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently, including cardiac monitors
  • 5Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and explaining procedures to patients
  • 6Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and walking long distances within hospital facilities
  • 7Knowledge of cardiac rhythm analysis and ECG interpretation
