Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Day Shift, CNA
Overview
You will own direct bedside care for a diverse patient population at a 40-bed acute rehabilitation hospital, partnering with nurses and therapists to drive outcomes. Day shift, Plano, TX. What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver bedside care including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and feeding under RN supervision for up to 8 patients per shift
- 2Document patient data in EMR systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for every shift
- 3Collaborate with nurses and therapists to implement care plans, reporting changes in patient condition immediately
- 4Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, preparing rooms and equipment
- 5Maintain infection control standards, using PPE and proper hand hygiene per hospital policy
- 6Support patients with activities of daily living, including turning, positioning, and ambulation
- 7Respond to call lights promptly, prioritizing urgent needs and communicating with the care team
- 8Participate in daily huddles and shift handoffs, sharing observations that inform treatment adjustments
Requirements7
- 11+ year experience as a Patient Care Technician or CNA in a hospital setting
- 2CPR Certification required (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- 3CNA license required in ID, UT, WY, and SC; preferred elsewhere
- 4High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 5Knowledge of clinical procedures, infection control, and patient safety protocols
- 6Effective verbal and written communication skills for charting and team collaboration
- 7Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally with diverse patients and staff
