Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Dialysis | DaVita San Francisco
Overview
You will provide direct, hands-on dialysis care to patients with end-stage renal disease in an outpatient clinic, under RN supervision. You will set up and maintain dialysis equipment, monitor vital signs, and educate patients on kidney health. You will collaborate with nurses, dietitians, and social workers to ensure safe, compassionate treatment. What You'll Do7
- 1Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care to patients before, during, and after treatment.
- 2Set up and maintain dialysis equipment, ensuring proper function and sterile conditions.
- 3Record vital signs and patient data, documenting changes and reporting to the RN supervisor.
- 4Educate patients on treatment procedures and kidney health to support self-care.
- 5Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, and social workers to coordinate patient care.
- 6Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately in emergencies.
- 7Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, following infection control protocols.
Requirements6
- 1Accredited High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2Comfortable around blood, needles, and medical equipment.
- 3Physically able to work long shifts on your feet.
- 4Willing to float between local clinics if needed.
- 5Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 6Preferred: CNA, MA, CHT, phlebotomy certification, or healthcare experience.
Salary Insight
