Patient Care Technician, Dialysis
Overview
You will own direct patient care for end-stage renal disease patients in an outpatient dialysis clinic, supporting life-sustaining dialysis treatments under RN supervision. You'll join a care team of nurses, dietitians, and social workers, delivering hands-on care and education. What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care to patients during treatment.
- 2Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis for vital signs and adverse reactions.
- 3Set up and maintain dialysis equipment ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
- 4Record vital signs and patient data accurately in electronic health records.
- 5Educate patients on dialysis treatment and kidney health management.
- 6Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members.
- 7Respond to patient emergencies and escalate issues to RN supervision promptly.
- 8Maintain a sterile and organized treatment environment per infection control protocols.
- 9Float to local clinics as needed to support patient care coverage.
Requirements6
- 1Accredited High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2Comfortable around blood, needles, and medical equipment.
- 3Physically able to work long shifts on your feet.
- 4Willing to float between local clinics if needed.
- 5Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 6Preferred: CNA, MA, CHT, phlebotomy certification, or healthcare experience.
