Patient Care Assistant CNA LNA Progressive Care Unit
Overview
You will provide routine patient care on a 38-bed cardiac telemetry unit, owning patient comfort and contributing to the overall plan of care. As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, you will collect patient data, document in the medical record, and support unit operations. You will collaborate with a strong team of nurses and physicians, floating to all inpatient units as needed. This full-time night shift role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus, an 18% night shift differential, and a $1/hour weekend differential. You will work 3-12 hour shifts with self-scheduling, impacting patient outcomes in a top-ranked Phoenix hospital.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assist patients with activities of daily living, including basic hygiene, mobility, and nutritional intake in the first 90 days.
- 2Collect patient specimens and vital signs, documenting data in EPIC electronic medical records per unit policy.
- 3Recognize and report changes in patient health status to licensed professionals, ensuring continuity of care.
- 4Perform delegated procedures like blood draws, EKGs, and foley catheter removal under supervision.
- 5Handle clerical duties, including maintaining patient records, processing physician orders, and scanning charts.
- 6Monitor and track electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and laptops, ensuring availability.
- 7Manage supply inventory, reconcile deliveries, and coordinate with dietary and medical staff.
- 8Support patient transport, including post-operative transfers to critical care units.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- 3Current CNA license in the state of practice; LNA preferred in Arizona.
- 41+ year of medical clerical experience or relevant customer service background.
- 5Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy with keyboarding skills.
- 6Pass an ECG/EEG test with 85% accuracy, including lethal cardiac dysrhythmia identification.
- 7Completion of a unit-approved electrocardiogram interpretation course or equivalent training.
- 8Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for certain behavioral health settings.
- 9Recent healthcare experience preferred.
