Overview
Own cardiac care for a 66-bed Progressive Care Unit at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, part of a Top 100 hospital. You will manage 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratios, with a focus on congestive heart failure, post-catheterization, and arrhythmia treatment. What You'll Do7
- 1Assess patient physical, psychological, and social needs, reviewing histories and diagnostics for cardiac patients in a 66-bed PCU.
- 2Initiate and revise a plan of care, collaborating with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to set realistic goals.
- 3Implement care through direct patient care, coordination, and delegation, ensuring compliance with BLS and hospital standards.
- 4Evaluate patient response to care and teaching, adjusting the plan to achieve optimal outcomes for heart failure and arrhythmia cases.
- 5Document assessments and interventions accurately in the patient record, noting physician orders in a timely manner.
- 6Participate in shared leadership and mentor new staff, promoting a culture of excellence and evidence-based care.
- 7Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, aligning with national nursing indicators to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
Requirements7
- 1Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim license, or compact licensure.
- 2BLS certification required.
- 31+ years of acute care experience, with cardiac or telemetry background preferred.
- 4Experience in medical-surgical, ICU, or progressive care settings is considered.
- 5Ability to work 3/12-hour shifts, including weekends and nights, with self-scheduling.
- 6Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for certain behavioral health units, but not for this position.
- 7Bachelor's degree preferred.
