Overview
Own the full accounting cycle for a growing engineering firm serving the federal government. You will manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations using PROCAS accounting software, working with outsourced accountants to deliver accurate monthly financials. Your work ensures compliance and financial integrity for government contracts. What You'll Do7
- 1Own full-cycle accounting: accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations in PROCAS.
- 2Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the general ledger with precision.
- 3Post journal entries and apply double-entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting for government contracts.
- 4Build financial reports, including variance analysis and management summaries.
- 5Coordinate with outsourced accountants during month-end close and contract reporting.
- 6Support HR tasks, vendor and customer management, and maintain electronic records in Excel.
- 7Streamline administrative workflows to support firm operations.
Requirements9
- 13+ years as a full-charge accountant or similar role in corporate or non-profit settings.
- 2In-depth knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting concepts.
- 3Experience with government contractor accounting software or job costing modules.
- 4Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data filtering.
- 5Deep understanding of government contract and grant accounting practices.
- 6Track record of accurate account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
- 7Experience with audits, regulatory reporting, budget management, and cash flow analysis.
- 8Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision.
- 9Quick learner of new software and compliance requirements.
