Project Accountant, Architecture and Engineering Industry
Overview
Lead project accounting and billing functions for architecture and engineering projects at FXCollaborative. Oversee monthly invoicing, revenue recognition, and financial analysis across diverse client engagements. Ensure accurate billing and closeouts while supporting cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do11
- 1Prepare and issue monthly invoices for complex agency projects such as SCA TBTA and MTA
- 2Manage billing requirements for progress billing retainage and change orders
- 3Track and allocate labor and subcontractor costs aligning with project budgets
- 4Record cash receipts and notify project managers partners and principals about incoming payments
- 5Set up new projects with accurate financial details including billing terms and rate tables
- 6Maintain project budgets throughout lifecycle and reconcile financial statements at closeout
- 7Process subconsultant invoices and coordinate payments according to contract terms
- 8Coordinate with project managers to review financials and resolve billing discrepancies
- 9Prepare monthly financial reports including cash flow projections and budget vs actual analysis
- 10Assist with Deltek reporting and train teams on financial documentation processes
- 11Participate in project audits and support financial statement preparation for internal/external reviews
Requirements5
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 25+ years experience in project accounting within architecture interior design and engineering sectors
- 3Proficiency with Deltek Vision and Microsoft Office suite
- 4Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and proactive communication abilities
- 5Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within fast-paced environments
