Paraprofessional Specialist, ESAP at Gilbert Public Schools
Overview
Paraprofessional Specialist will support severely and moderately disabled students under the supervision of a certificated teacher at a Title I campus. The role requires adapting activities, assisting with daily living skills, and implementing instructional and behavioral plans. You will collect data, monitor safety, and participate in professional development to support student progress. This position offers onsite work at Settlers Point Elementary with a 9 month calendar and a benefits aware payroll structure.
What You'll Do9
- 1Assist in supervising and instructing students with disabilities under teacher direction
- 2Adapt classroom activities and materials to enable participation by all students
- 3Provide daily living and behavioral support including toileting feeding dressing suctioning tube feeding lifting and positioning
- 4Support instructional activities for individuals or small groups aligning with IEPs and district benchmarks
- 5Implement behavioral plans designed by the IEP team and monitor student progress
- 6Record data on instruction and behavior for reporting and Direct Service Claiming DSC
- 7Monitor safety during meals playground field trips and classroom activities
- 8Respond to emergencies and maintain a safe learning environment
- 9Attend required professional development and collaborate with teachers and therapists
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Associate degree or 60 college credits or passing Para Pro Assessment
- 3Valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 4CPR/ First Aid Certificate
- 5Maintain CPI certification as requested by supervisor
