What You'll Do10
- 1Operate Class A tractors safely across all 48 states, hauling high-value electronics, medical equipment, and aerospace cargo.
- 2Deliver freight with precision, handling MRIs, jet engines, and artwork with care to meet customer expectations.
- 3Run OTR routes averaging 3,400 miles weekly, managing time to meet delivery schedules while adhering to Hours of Service.
- 4Inspect equipment daily, ensuring tractor and trailer are in peak condition; report maintenance needs to onsite shop.
- 5Document all deliveries via electronic logs, capturing accurate records for billing and compliance.
- 6Coordinate with dispatch on route changes, delays, or weather, providing real-time updates.
- 7Secure cargo using proper tie-downs and dunnage, protecting high-value freight from damage.
- 8Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all DOT regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- 9Utilize onboard amenities like APU and refrigerator to maintain comfort during long hauls.
- 10Represent Safeway Logistics with professionalism, building trust with customers at every stop.
Requirements9
- 1Class A CDL required, with a clean driving record.
- 21+ year of OTR experience hauling freight across state lines.
- 3Ability to handle high-value cargo such as electronics and medical equipment with care.
- 4Willingness to be away from home for extended periods; OTR routes cover 48 states.
- 5Physical capability to load and unload freight, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 6Strong communication skills via phone and electronic logging devices.
- 7Commitment to safety, following DOT HOS rules and company policies.
- 8Clean background check and drug test screening.
- 9Experience with APU and inverter systems is a plus.
