Ortho Dental Assistant, RDA Orthodontics
Overview
You will prepare patients for orthodontic procedures, take X-Rays and digital scans, and assist the orthodontist with bonding, banding, and archwire changes in a high-volume practice. Join a collaborative team of RDAs and dentists at Western Dental / Brident, with training programs for both new and experienced licensees. You'll grow your skills across Ortho, Pedo, Perio, Endo, and Oral Surgery departments, with clear paths to advancement. What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for orthodontic procedures.
- 2Take and mount X-Rays, panoramic images, and dental impressions.
- 3Assist the orthodontist during bonding, banding, and bracket placement.
- 4Handle archwire changes, ligature ties, and removal of orthodontic appliances.
- 5Educate patients on oral hygiene and care of braces and retainers.
- 6Manage patient flow and update digital charts in the clinic.
- 7Support the front desk with scheduling and patient follow-up.
- 8Follow all OSHA and infection control protocols to ensure safety.
Requirements7
- 1RDA license in the state of California.
- 2X-Ray license required.
- 31+ years of orthodontic assisting experience preferred.
- 4Strong chairside assisting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- 5Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- 6CPR certification is a plus.
- 7Willingness to learn and cross-train in other dental specialties.
Salary Insight
