Orthodontic Assistant | Braces & Patient Care
Overview
You will own chairside support for orthodontic procedures across a high-volume Houston practice. Guided by Southern Orthodontic Partners, you'll join a collaborative team of assistants and orthodontists focused on patient experience. This role blends clinical precision with patient education, offering growth in a nationwide network. You'll master braces placement and adjustments, X-ray capture, and EMR documentation from day one.
What You'll Do7
- 1Assist orthodontists chairside during procedures, passing instruments and anticipating needs.
- 2Place, adjust, and remove braces, brackets, and bands under direct supervision.
- 3Take X-rays, intraoral scans, impressions, and progress photos with Sirona and 3Shape equipment.
- 4Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using Midmark autoclaves.
- 5Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and braces aftercare.
- 6Maintain accurate patient records in Ortho2 EMR.
- 7Coordinate with clinical and front office teams; cross-train as needed.
Requirements6
- 11-2 years experience as a Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant.
- 2RDA or CDA certification preferred.
- 3Proficiency with Dexis X-ray software and iTero scanners.
- 4Strong manual dexterity for precise instrument handling.
- 5Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
- 6Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented mindset.
Salary Insight
