Operations Manager, Transportation & DOT Compliance
Overview
Own daily dispatching, load planning, and route utilization for a 100 year old full service carrier operating across North America. Lead driver coaching for retention while upholding DOT compliance and safety, with KPI reporting and payroll confirmation. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to maintain high service levels and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build daily work and run schedules to optimize on time performance and cost control
- 2Design and monitor driver utilization using Qualcomm and Omnitracs to meet customer requirements
- 3Lead driver coaching for retention, safety, and service quality along with performance counseling
- 4Drive KPI reporting and payroll accuracy to internal Hogan teams and customers
- 5Own fleet maintenance coordination, incident response, and backhaul planning
- 6Coordinate with customers and managers to address questions, problems, or service requests
- 7Oversee scheduling, dispatch, and communication to ensure on time pickup and delivery
- 8Monitor hours of service compliance and route optimization to minimize out of route miles
- 9Manage personnel issues including disciplinary actions and hiring decisions
- 10Maintain accurate records of payroll, driver logs, and customer requests
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- 210+ years in the transportation industry
- 35+ years developing talent in managers
- 45+ years managing to a P&L
- 5Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- 6AS400, Omnitracs, TMW and Geotab experience preferred
- 7Strong relationship building skills
- 8Excellent organizational and planning skills
- 9Strong customer service orientation
- 10Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
