What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead daily transportation and driver operations to ensure safe, on-time deliveries
  • 2Manage route execution, DOT hours-of-service compliance, fleet utilization, and refrigerated transportation activities
  • 3Coach drivers and team members using onboard safety and performance data to drive improvement
  • 4Collaborate with operations and safety leadership on staffing, regulatory compliance, service performance, and cost control
  • 5Monitor transportation expenses, staffing needs, equipment availability, and KPIs to identify efficiency gains
  • 6Support continuous improvement initiatives in transportation operations
  • 7Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align on safety and service goals
  • 8Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain up-to-date documentation
  • 9Prepare and manage budgets, equipment utilization, and performance reporting
  • 10Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and professional development

Requirements12

  • 15–7 years of multi-state transportation management experience in the food distribution industry
  • 2Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, Federal Motor Carrier requirements, hours-of-service rules, and transportation safety practices
  • 3Experience managing drivers, refrigerated transportation, route performance, and on-time delivery
  • 4Experience using transportation management routing systems, onboard computer, and driver safety monitoring technology
  • 5Proven ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, and lead teams in a fast-paced environment
  • 6Experience managing transportation costs, budgets, fleet utilization, and operational performance metrics
  • 7Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and collaboration skills
  • 8Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • 9Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 10Class A CDL preferred but not required
  • 11Ability to work flexible or extended hours and travel as needed
  • 12Ability to lift, tug, or pull up to 15 pounds
