Overview

Lead commercial field operations and fleet readiness as a hands‑on leader. Own daily operations, drive technician performance, and ensure service quality across Chicago and surrounding regions. This is a field‑first role focused on operational excellence and team development.

What You'll Do35

• 1Lead daily operations for commercial field service teams through direct management of Field Supervisors and coordination with Logistics.
• 2Hold supervisors accountable for technician attendance, productivity, safety, service quality, and professionalism.
• 3Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and technicians through regular performance discussions and one‑on‑one meetings.
• 4Address employee performance issues through coaching, corrective action, documentation, and follow‑up in accordance with company policy.
• 5Ensure a minimum of 95% of scheduled jobs are completed daily without customer escalation.
• 6Conduct weekly one‑on‑one meetings with the Field Supervisor and Logistics Planner.
• 7Lead weekly Operations Alignment Meetings with Fleet, Logistics, Staging, and Field Services.
• 8Conduct technician safety and performance meetings every six weeks.
• 9Complete quarterly performance evaluations for direct reports.
• 10Perform regular site audits at commercial customer locations to verify service quality and cleanliness standards.
• 11Investigate service deficiencies and determine root causes related to personnel, equipment, or processes.
• 12Audit job tickets, routes, inspections, and documentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
• 13Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial customers through regular site visits.
• 14Oversee fleet readiness to ensure vehicles and equipment are safe, compliant, and available for daily operations.
• 15Partner closely with the Fleet Maintenance team to coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and repairs.
• 16Monitor vehicle availability and equipment readiness using fleet management systems and maintenance reports.
• 17Maintain driver qualification files, inspection records, maintenance documentation, and other required compliance records.
• 18Coordinate vehicle inspections, registrations, licensing, and regulatory documentation.
• 19Work with Fleet and Facilities to resolve equipment failures, breakdowns, and operational disruptions.
• 20Oversee administrative functions of the maintenance shop, including work orders, repair tracking, preventive maintenance schedules, and vendor communication.
• 21Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities to improve fleet reliability while controlling expenses.
• 22Support mechanics by ensuring administrative processes remain organized, accurate, and efficient.
• 23Manage inventory for the fleet maintenance shop, including parts, tools, fluids, tires, filters, consumables, and critical spare components.
• 24Establish inventory controls and reorder procedures that support efficient fleet operations.
• 25Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety policies, and operational standards; review Samsara, GPS, tablet activity, and field data daily.
• 26Prepare scope‑of‑work documentation and visual job aids for new or specialized work.
• 27Identify opportunities to improve workflows, SOPs, and operational efficiency.
• 28Prepare daily KPI reports covering production, route efficiency, fleet readiness, safety, customer concerns, and technician performance.
• 29Submit weekly operational summaries to senior leadership.
• 30Prepare and present monthly and quarterly reports covering productivity, staffing, fleet performance, maintenance costs, safety, compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational trends.
• 31Review scheduling and technician utilization with the Logistics Planner to maximize efficiency.
• 32Partner with Sales and Customer Service to resolve customer concerns.
• 33Collaborate with Human Resources on recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce development.
• 34Manage keys and access control for assigned customer accounts.
• 35Ensure ERP records, operational documentation, maintenance records, and administrative forms remain accurate and current.
