Overview
The Operations Manager leads production and logistics at Ecoservices Chicago delivering virgin sulfuric acid and related services. This role drives manufacturing excellence scales across operations and logistics while championing safety and managing a 3-5 year capital expenditure plan. The position also involves leading cross-functional teams and supporting Hammond Management initiatives.
What You'll Do11
- 1Drive manufacturing excellence by owning the OEE program and establishing daily weekly monthly KPI dashboards
- 2Champion safety culture through LOTO compliance training and conducting safety observations
- 3Develop and maintain a rolling 3-5 year capital expenditure plan and submit annual budget requests
- 4Lead debottlenecking initiatives and value stream mapping exercises to optimize throughput
- 5Own MOC implementation and track progress across operations
- 6Manage logistics operations including loading tank inventory and minimizing demurrage costs
- 7Oversee truck loading safety and participate in Hammond Management Team meetings
- 8Lead turnaround shutdowns and unit startup activities following MOC processes
- 9Actively support HS&E standards and Ecovyst 20 Principles for Managing Behavioral and Operational Safety
- 10Provide miscellaneous leadership including rotating duty superintendent responsibilities
- 11Support organizational change initiatives alongside the Management Team
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university
- 2Minimum 5-10 years of operations or production management experience in chemical manufacturing or equivalent
- 3PSM experience including OSHA 1910.119 certification with LOTO PSSR MOC incident investigation and PHA management
- 4USW union environment experience demonstrating ability to lead unionized workforce
- 5Proficiency in SAP Enablon OSlsoft Pl Vision Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- 6Experience with tank farm operations carrier management and demurrage tracking
- 7Equipment inspection skills including confined space entries
- 840-hour HAZWOPER certification
