Operations Manager, Environmental & Industrial Services
Overview
You will own daily coordination of environmental and industrial field services at OC VACUUM INC in Los Angeles. You manage personnel, equipment, scheduling, safety, compliance, and project profitability. Your team handles hazardous-waste transportation, confined-space entry, and industrial cleaning. This role demands decisiveness and hands-on leadership in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Oversee all operational aspects of the business, from crew dispatch to job completion.
- 2Create strategic and operational goals, then drive execution to meet targets.
- 3Implement systems and processes to boost efficiency and profitability.
- 4Ensure crews arrive with correct PPE, permits, manifests, and project documentation.
- 5Maintain compliance with DOT, DTSC, OSHA/Cal/OSHA, HAZWOPER, and confined-space rules.
- 6Monitor job progress, labor hours, equipment usage, and disposal costs to protect margins.
- 7Respond to operational emergencies, equipment breakdowns, and customer changes with practical fixes.
- 8Verify daily reports, driver paperwork, manifests, disposal receipts, and timecards for accuracy.
- 9Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of ops personnel.
- 10Build a strong safety culture while meeting customer schedules and financial goals.
Requirements8
- 15+ years managing operations in environmental, industrial, waste, construction, or logistics.
- 2Experience supervising field crews and coordinating trucks and heavy equipment.
- 3Working knowledge of hazardous-waste transportation and workplace safety requirements.
- 4Strong scheduling, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and scheduling or project-management software.
- 6Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- 7HAZWOPER, confined-space, DOT, or related environmental certifications preferred.
- 8Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
