Maintenance Planning Manager, Chemical Plant SAP CMMS
Overview
You will own the maintenance planning and scheduling function at a chemical manufacturing facility, driving equipment reliability and safety compliance. You will lead a team of planners and schedulers, coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors, and prioritize work based on production needs. This role is central to our transformation as a newly independent, Private Equity-backed organization, modernizing with SAP, MES, and cybersecurity systems. You will manage turnaround planning, track KPIs, and ensure compliance with LOTO and permit systems. What You'll Do8
- 1Develop detailed job plans for corrective, preventive (PM), and predictive maintenance work, including scope, labor hours, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
- 2Create and manage weekly and daily maintenance schedules, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Procurement.
- 3Prioritize and manage the maintenance backlog, focusing on safety, quality, and production needs.
- 4Lead turnaround and outage planning activities, ensuring minimal downtime and resource optimization.
- 5Ensure compliance with safety standards, including LOTO and permit systems, across all maintenance activities.
- 6Track and report KPIs such as schedule compliance, PM completion, and equipment downtime.
- 7Lead and develop the planners and schedulers team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- 8Coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimize work execution and drive reliability improvements.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of maintenance planning experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment.
- 25+ years of experience with SAP or similar CMMS systems.
- 3High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- 4Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- 5Experience in a union environment.
- 6Advanced Excel and reporting tools skills.
- 7Knowledge of reliability practices, including RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
- 8Familiarity with OSHA and process safety standards.
