Overview

You will own the master production schedule for a global water technology plant in Minnetonka, MN, balancing capacity, materials, and delivery commitments. You will orchestrate the entire plant planning process, from translating high-level supply plans into daily work orders to making real-time adjustments on the shop floor. What You'll Do10

  • 1Develop and maintain the master production schedule, translating high-level supply plans into detailed work orders and production runs using SAP and Kinaxis Maestro.
  • 2Analyze capacity constraints and resource utilization, identifying bottlenecks and recommending adjustments to optimize throughput and minimize idle time.
  • 3Manage raw material and WIP inventory levels by setting safety stock targets, monitoring turnover, and balancing carrying costs against stockout risks in SAP.
  • 4Coordinate material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure raw materials, components, and packaging are available, synchronizing material flow with the production schedule.
  • 5Lead daily production meetings, communicating priorities and schedule changes to production teams and operators, and adjusting plans in real-time for disruptions.
  • 6Own the engineering change (ECO) process, updating the master schedule and communicating impact across stakeholders to prevent delays.
  • 7Maintain planning master data, including BOMs and routings, to ensure scheduling accuracy and support SAP data integrity.
  • 8Track and report on schedule adherence, delivery performance, and inventory metrics, providing insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • 9Execute cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives, ensuring ERP data reflects real-time shop floor status.
  • 10Respond to equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or quality issues by quickly rescheduling operations to minimize production impact.

Requirements9

  • 13+ years of production planning or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field (or High School diploma with 5+ years of planning experience).
  • 3Hands-on expertise with SAP ERP and advanced Excel skills for analyzing large datasets.
  • 4Experience with Kinaxis Maestro or Planet Together is strongly preferred.
  • 5ASCM CPIM certification or progress toward it.
  • 6Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority.
  • 7Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • 8Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships.
  • 9Comfort working in a matrixed organization and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
