Operations Safety Coordinator - Chicago
Overview
The Operations Safety Coordinator leads workplace safety initiatives at our Downers Grove facility. You will support regulatory compliance and employee training while fostering a strong safety culture. This role drives continuous improvement and serves as backup for the Operations Safety Manager.
What You'll Do11
- 1Administer safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA DOT environmental and company requirements
- 2Coordinate safety training onboarding and awareness programs
- 3Conduct facility inspections audits and incident investigations
- 4Maintain safety records OSHA logs and compliance documentation
- 5Monitor injury trends and recommend corrective actions
- 6Support Job Safety Analyses HazCom and other safety programs
- 7Partner with management to identify and mitigate workplace risks
- 8Assist with regulatory inspections audits and workers compensation investigations
- 9Promote continuous improvement and a positive safety culture
- 10Support site safety committees and daily EHS activities
- 11Act as backup for essential safety functions
Requirements5
- 1Associates or Bachelor's degree in Safety Environmental Science or related field preferred
- 2Minimum 3 years of safety environmental manufacturing or related experience
- 3Knowledge of OSHA DOT and applicable federal state and local regulations
- 4Strong communication training investigation and report writing skills
- 5Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities
