Overview

Lead and manage Environmental Health and Safety programs for a large manufacturing and distribution operation. Partner with leadership to enhance safety practices and environmental performance.

What You'll Do16

  • 1Lead and manage Environmental Health and Safety programs for a large manufacturing and distribution operation
  • 2Develop and implement programs to reduce workplace injuries incidents and environmental risk
  • 3Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA DOT RCRA and applicable local state and federal regulations
  • 4Conduct facility inspections audits and gap assessments to identify safety and environmental concerns
  • 5Create and execute corrective action plans addressing identified risks and compliance gaps
  • 6Act as site EHS subject matter expert providing guidance to leadership supervisors and employees
  • 7Manage environmental compliance programs including wastewater stormwater hazardous materials and other applicable programs
  • 8Support regulatory permitting inspections reporting and communications with government agencies
  • 9Collaborate with facility and operations teams to improve safety practices and environmental performance
  • 10Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs for employees at all levels
  • 11Establish and maintain emergency response procedures and participate in crisis management activities
  • 12Review and support workers compensation claims and incident investigations as needed
  • 13Collect analyze and report EHS data metrics scorecards and performance trends
  • 14Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and share best practices across the organization
  • 15Work cross-functionally with operations maintenance fleet HR legal and other departments to ensure compliance and improve workplace safety
  • 16Support ergonomic industrial hygiene chemical safety and other hazard prevention initiatives

Requirements18

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety Occupational Safety Environmental Science or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • 2High school diploma or GED with 9+ years of directly related EHS experience
  • 36+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing distribution or industrial environment
  • 4Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA DOT RCRA and other applicable EHS regulations
  • 5Experience developing implementing and auditing EHS management systems
  • 6Understanding of hazard identification risk assessment incident investigation and corrective action processes
  • 7Proficiency with environmental compliance programs such as wastewater stormwater hazardous materials or air quality
  • 8Ability to communicate complex regulatory and technical information clearly
  • 9Experience creating and delivering safety training programs
  • 10Analytical and problem solving skills using EHS data to drive improvements
  • 11Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • 12Independent work style with effective collaboration across cross functional teams
  • 13Leadership experience within EHS or operational environments preferred
  • 14Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
  • 15Professional EHS certification such as CSP CIH or similar preferred
  • 16Familiarity with ISO 14001 ISO 45001 or similar EHS management systems preferred
  • 17Experience in food beverage consumer products or high volume manufacturing preferred
  • 18Background check and drug screening clearance required
