Plant EHS Manager, Manufacturing Safety & Compliance
Overview
You will own the plant's OHSE management system, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and a proactive safety culture across a high-volume manufacturing site. You will partner directly with plant leadership to set strategy, lead audits, and drive incident prevention. You will oversee programs in fire protection, industrial hygiene, and security, with a strong presence on the floor. This role offers a clear path to CSP or CIH certification, backed by a global packaging leader.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead the plant's OHSE management system, aligning with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- 2Partner with plant leadership to execute the site OHSE strategy, assigning ownership and tracking progress.
- 3Drive a safety culture through leadership, communication, and employee recognition programs.
- 4Conduct OHSE audits and inspections, develop corrective actions, and track to completion.
- 5Ensure critical risk assessments and job safety analyses are completed, with effective implementation.
- 6Oversee incident investigations, finalize reports, and enter them into the corporate system.
- 7Analyze incident data and audit findings to prioritize improvement efforts.
- 8Serve as primary liaison for external audits (OSHA, environmental, fire), ensuring readiness.
- 9Maintain regulatory records, including OSHA 300 logs, and ensure proper posting.
- 10Chair plant safety committees and communicate OHSE updates through reports and meetings.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, or equivalent technical training.
- 23+ years in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment, with plastics preferred.
- 3Experience managing construction and contractor safety in a manufacturing setting.
- 4Ability to communicate across multiple teams and departments.
- 5Experience training and maintaining safety program records, including Forklift and LOTO.
- 6Track record of leading projects and championing a safety-first culture.
- 7CSP or CIH certification preferred, achievable within 3 years of hire.
