EHS Specialist - Manufacturing Safety & Compliance
Overview
You will own EHS programs at Dover Fueling Solutions in Austin, TX, covering lockout, confined space, emergency response, and waste management. You will join a global team of 10,000+ employees across 10 countries, reporting to the EHS Manager. This role offers the chance to lead cross-functional safety initiatives and train employees and contractors, making a direct impact on a Fortune 500 company's operations.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and maintain EHS documentation for Lockout, Confined Space, Emergency Response, and Hazard Communication to meet ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- 2Lead troubleshooting of safety and environmental issues, coordinating with staff across disciplines to resolve incidents.
- 3Drive internal compliance audits and program evaluations, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
- 4Design and deliver safety training for employees, temp agency staff, and contractors, covering topics like Spill Response and Storm Water management.
- 5Own waste management and spill response procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe handling.
- 6Coordinate subcontractor support for the EHS department, ensuring they meet DFS safety standards.
- 7Oversee department sub-contractor support as needed, ensuring they meet DFS safety standards.
- 8Support the EHS department as a knowledge resource, answering questions and guiding best practices.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Emergency Response.
- 2Familiarity with OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and Integrated Management Systems, including documentation and audit processes.
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
- 4Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5Strong regulatory knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards, with experience applying them in a factory setting.
- 6Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with employees and management.
- 7Self-directed work style with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
