Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, Manufacturing & Onsite Operations
Overview
Occupational Health and Safety leadership role supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs across commissioning and production operations. You will partner with employees, leadership, contractors, and vendors to identify and mitigate hazards and strengthen a proactive safety culture. You will provide technical guidance on safety requirements and support audits, training, and incident investigations. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to influence safety outcomes in a complex industrial environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and drive safety programs across commissioning and production operations to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance
- 2Partner with cross functional teams and vendors to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards
- 3Deliver clear guidance on OSHA and other health and safety standards to support safe operations
- 4Support risk assessments and recommend risk reduction measures for tasks, processes, and equipment
- 5Conduct, participate in, and track audits and inspections to verify compliance and drive corrective actions
- 6Assist with incident investigations including near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence
- 7Develop and deliver safety training programs for diverse audiences to build competence
- 8Promote a strong safety culture through ongoing engagement, coaching, and communication
- 9Support emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response coordination
- 10Maintain documentation and records related to safety programs, audits, inspections, incidents, and training
Requirements10
- 1Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and regulatory requirements
- 2Experience implementing and administering safety programs in operational environments
- 3Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards using structured risk assessment methods
- 4Proficiency in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- 5Experience developing and delivering effective safety training to diverse audiences
- 6Familiarity with OSHA and other health and safety standards and guidelines
- 7Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees, leadership, contractors, consultants, and vendors
- 8Ability to influence safety culture through proactive engagement and coaching
- 9Analytical skills to interpret safety data, identify trends, and drive improvements
- 10Experience in commissioning and production operations or similar industrial environments
