What You'll Do10
- 1Lead all on-duty nursing staff during non-business hours, ensuring proper staffing levels and workflow.
- 2Act as the highest-ranking on-site authority after-hours and weekends, making timely decisions on patient care, staffing, safety, and operations.
- 3Collaborate with other departments to escalate issues and resolve complex clinical or family situations.
- 4Conduct frequent rounds to assess resident conditions and verify nursing personnel meet CPR and care standards.
- 5Give and receive nursing reports at shift changes, documenting all care and administrative details.
- 6Maintain clean and sanitary treatment areas, including nurse stations, medication carts, and resident rooms.
- 7Perform administrative duties like completing medical forms, evaluations, and studies.
- 8Provide direct nursing care as needed, ensuring restorative care notes are informative and descriptive.
- 9Orient new admissions and inform staff of arrivals, room assignments, and expected times.
- 10Handle call-ins and last-minute staffing changes to guarantee continuous care delivery.
Requirements11
- 1Current CPR Certification required.
- 2Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
- 3Current RN license in the State of Michigan.
- 41+ year supervisory experience preferred in long-term care and MDS.
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- 6Strong interpersonal and team development skills.
- 7Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- 8Analytical and problem-solving skills to organize, prioritize, and delegate.
- 9Knowledge of infection control standards and policies.
- 10Flexible schedule for after-hours, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
