Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Skilled Nursing
Overview
You will own clinical operations and nursing staff supervision at a skilled nursing facility, ensuring quality care and regulatory compliance. What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise nursing care delivery, ensuring adherence to care plans and resident safety protocols.
- 2Interview, hire, and train nursing staff, onboarding new hires within their first 30 days.
- 3Assign work based on resident needs and staff competency, balancing acuity and skill mix.
- 4Coordinate shift coverage, filling absences and transferring staff across units as census demands.
- 5Conduct performance evaluations at 90 days and annually, linking outcomes to wage progression.
- 6Address employee performance issues promptly, up to and including termination when needed.
- 7Approve timecard corrections and resolve payroll discrepancies before each pay period.
- 8Monitor staff performance, providing real-time feedback and corrective action plans.
Requirements6
- 1RN license in Michigan, current and unrestricted.
- 22+ years progressive nursing leadership in a Skilled Nursing Facility or related setting.
- 3Knowledge of state and federal regulations for long-term care.
- 4CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
- 5Infection Preventionist certification preferred.
- 6Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
