Mental Health Counselor for Seniors, LMHC/LCFS & LMFT in Florida
Overview
A Florida licensed Master’s level clinician will provide mental health services to seniors in assisted living and skilled nursing communities across Hollywood and surrounding areas. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team and enjoy flexibility in part-time or full-time schedules. Our 30+ year practice specializes in compassionate, evidence-based care for older adults in long-term care settings. You’ll build therapeutic relationships, help residents cope with aging, grief, and cognitive changes, and maintain a high quality of life.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build therapeutic relationships with residents in long-term care settings
- 2Design and deliver evidence-based mental health interventions for seniors
- 3Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to integrate care plans
- 4Document progress in the Electronic Health Record and ensure data accuracy
- 5Provide supportive counseling to residents and families to improve coping skills
- 6Participate in ongoing clinical training and case consultations
- 7Advocate for residents to maximize quality of life and emotional well-being
- 8Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines
Requirements5
- 1Active Florida license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT (or nearing licensure)
- 2Experience serving older adults in long-term care settings preferred
