Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Stabilization Services
Overview
You will own clinical counseling for patients in a residential Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) program at The Dimock Center, a federally qualified community health center. You will provide individual, family, and group counseling, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team. This weekend-only role offers hands-on experience in substance use and behavioral health, ideal for those pursuing an advanced degree in social work or counseling. You will work every Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 7 PM, with a salary of $26-$31/hr.
What You'll Do9
- 1Provide brief supportive therapy and individual, family, and group counseling to support patient progress toward treatment goals.
- 2Facilitate psychoeducational groups using evidence-based practices under guidance from the Clinical Director.
- 3Complete biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to individualized treatment planning within your scope.
- 4Maintain an assigned caseload and provide individual counseling as clinically appropriate.
- 5Collaborate with case managers and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate referrals and transitions of care.
- 6Provide crisis prevention, intervention, and risk assessments, escalating concerns to clinical leadership when needed.
- 7Support patients in developing recovery skills and community reintegration resources.
- 8Document assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries per agency, DPH, and BSAS requirements.
- 9Participate in staff meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development to build licensure hours.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in social work or a closely related field.
- 21+ year experience in a substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
- 3Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic documentation systems.
- 4Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
- 5Current enrollment in or completion of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- 6LADC I or II, CAC, CADAC, or other addiction counseling credential preferred.
- 7LCSW or LICSW licensure preferred.
- 8Spanish language capability preferred.
