Mental Health Clinical Therapist I-Weekender
Overview
Lead psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans for adult inpatient psychiatric patients. Conduct interviews with patients and families to gather histories and coordinate care. Provide therapy through individual group and family sessions. Report patient issues to agencies and serve as facility representative in legal matters. Maintain accurate medical records and schedule court appearances. Serve as spokesperson and uphold ethical standards.

- 1Conduct psychosocial assessments by interviewing patients and significant others to identify treatment priorities
- 2Contact prior and current caregivers for collateral data to support care coordination and discharge planning
- 3Develop monitor progress of individualized treatment plans
- 4Perform daily group and individual assessments to determine treatment focus
- 5Provide counseling sessions using evidence-based modalities
- 6Educate patients and families through didactic groups and aftercare support
- 7Participate in clinical team meetings and contribute insights on patient needs
- 8Adhere to procedures and legislation governing mental health treatment facilities
- 9Maintain comprehensive medical records including assessments and progress notes
- 10Schedule and document court hearings as required
- 11Serve as facility representative in legal proceedings and comply with safety protocols
Requirements8
- 1Master’s Degree in Social Work or related mental health field or Bachelor’s with substance abuse education
- 2Minimum two years behavioral health experience
- 3Current Illinois licensure with LPC LCPC LSW ALMFT LMFT LCSW or CADC depending on patient population
- 4CPI certification within ninety days of hire
- 5Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage volatile client situations
- 6Strong written communication skills for clinical documentation
- 7Self-control and ability to establish therapeutic boundaries
- 8Experience with community resources and discharge planning
