Medical Technician Ophthalmic Technician, EyeCare Partners Tampa Bay
Overview
Own and support ophthalmic patient testing and front end flow at multiple locations with a Monday Friday schedule and no weekend requirements. You will assist clinicians with preliminary testing and patient prep, while learning and growing in a clinically integrated eye care network. This role emphasizes patient service, teamwork, and accurate documentation.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain patient flow across multiple offices including preparation for exams and preliminary testing
- 2Assist the physician in testing and measurements to prepare patients for ophthalmic evaluations
- 3Verify medical and vision insurances and communicate results to patients and staff
- 4Document patient information and visit data in the EMR with accuracy and timeliness
- 5Support clinic operations by opening and closing rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining clean treatment areas
- 6Deliver exceptional patient service with a professional, courteous demeanor and HIPAA compliance
- 7Gather and communicate patient needs and physician requests to ensure efficient scheduling and care
- 8Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields and OCT under supervision and guidance
- 9Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures including vital signs and comfort measures
- 10Coordinate with team to improve patient flow and reduce wait times
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2One year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
- 4Comfort with basic computer use and HIPAA compliance
- 5Current COA or COT certification is preferred but not required
- 6Strong customer service and communication skills
- 7Ability to work Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some flexibility
- 8Reliable transportation to multiple locations as needed
- 9Demonstrates initiative and teamwork to achieve practice goals
- 10Willingness to learn and grow in ophthalmic testing and patient care
