Pediatric Ophthalmic Technician, Bilingual
Overview

What You'll Do7
- 1Perform pediatric workups, including visual acuity, tonometry, color vision, stereopsis, and refractions using EHR documentation.
- 2Assist the ophthalmologist during exams, ensuring age-appropriate testing and patient comfort.
- 3Greet and check in patients in English and Spanish, managing daily patient flow and scheduling.
- 4Verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and maintain accurate records in Mod Med.
- 5Prepare exam rooms and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment for each session.
- 6Communicate clearly with children and families, answering calls and providing follow-up instructions.
- 7Cross-train in front office duties, including appointment reminders and patient check-out.
Requirements7
- 11+ years of ophthalmology or optometry experience, preferred.
- 2Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
- 3COA or COT certification a plus, but not required.
- 4Experience with EHR systems, specifically Mod Med, preferred.
- 5Strong computer skills and ability to multitask in a busy pediatric practice.
- 6Patient, compassionate, and skilled at working with children and families.
- 7Willingness to cross-train in both clinical and administrative roles.
Salary Insight
