Medical Assistant Pediatric Pulmonary, Banner Health
Overview
Lead medical support in a pediatric pulmonology clinic serving patients from birth to 18 years. You will support clinicians, prepare patients for exams, and assist with procedures in a team oriented, patient centered environment. This role emphasizes compassionate care, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow across a multi specialty building.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain patient flow through clinic by preparing patients and recording vital signs
- 2Assist with exams and minor procedures including phlebotomy and EKGs
- 3Coordinate care through pre-authorizations, referrals, and scheduling for tests and treatments
- 4Provide clerical support and ensure complete medical records and timely billing information
- 5Maintain a clean, safe environment and proper handling of hazardous substances while following sterilization guidelines
- 6Order supplies and manage medications, recalls and equipment maintenance
- 7Develop and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- 8Complete onboarding and simulation training as required
- 9Work under supervision of providers and adapt to multiple departments and patient needs
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Completion of an approved medical assistant training program
- 3Active Medical Assistant Certification (RMA CMA CCMA NCMA NCCT)
- 4BLS certification
- 5Strong computer skills and ability to use medical software
