Overview
Own the patient care journey in a cardiology clinic at Banner Health Center with room for growth in an academic environment. Work with a team of clinicians and administrative staff to support patient flow, chart preparation, and direct patient care. You’ll gain exposure to advanced, minimally invasive cardiac treatments and a pathway from Medical Assistant to higher roles. This role emphasizes patient experience, robust training, and certification support.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build patient care workflows by rooming patients, taking vitals, and updating electronic medical records
- 2Design and support in office procedures such as phlebotomies, EKGs, ear irrigation, and basic exams
- 3Own coordinating pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling with clinicians and patients
- 4Ship complete medical records, labs, and imaging data for billing and coordination of care
- 5Drive patient communication by reporting test results and coordinating follow ups
- 6Scale clinic operations by maintaining equipment, inventory, and a clean clinical environment
- 7Lead onboarding and simulated training for new staff as needed
- 8Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure accurate documentation and data integrity
- 9Support the team with administrative tasks including appointment scheduling and referrals
- 10Contribute to a positive patient experience through service orientation and teamwork
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
- 3Uncertified Medical Assistant eligible for up to 12 months to obtain certification
- 4Certification options: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA with proof of current membership
- 5BLS certification required or in process
- 6Strong computer skills and experience with medical software
- 7Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured way
- 8Arizona fingerprint clearance card requirement for certain settings
- 9Experience with EMR and scheduling software preferred
- 10Effective interpersonal and communication skills
