What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare patients for exams by recording vital signs, symptoms, and chief complaints, and document pain scores. Report changes in patient condition to the clinician.
- 2Assist providers with exams and minor procedures, including blood pressure, phlebotomy, ear irrigation, and EKGs. Act as a chaperon and prioritize patient flow through the clinic.
- 3Coordinate patient care by managing pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling for tests and treatments. Communicate test results to patients.
- 4Provide clerical support by maintaining complete medical records, including labs, X-Rays, and hospital records. Ensure accurate billing information is captured.
- 5Maintain a clean clinical environment by disinfecting equipment and exam rooms, following OSHA guidelines, and performing basic maintenance on medical devices.
- 6Order and stock supplies, manage medication inventory including expired items, and ensure exam rooms are ready for patient care.
- 7Communicate effectively with external and internal customers, exemplifying a service orientation and team concept in all interactions.
- 8Complete onboarding and orientation activities, including simulation training, as directed.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- 2Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
- 3Active Medical Assistant Certification: RMA from AMT, CMA from AAMA, CCMA from NHA, or NCMA from NCCT.
- 4BLS certification required.
- 5Strong computer skills, including proficiency with medical software and EMR systems.
- 6Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- 7Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized manner.
- 8Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in a behavioral health setting.
