Medical Assistant, Family Practice & EMR
Overview
You will own patient preparation and clinical support in a busy Family Practice, handling 30+ patients daily. You'll work alongside physicians and nurses, performing EKGs, injections, and specimen collection. The role sits in a supportive team environment with EMR systems and direct patient interaction. What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare patients for exams by recording vital signs and medical histories.
- 2Room patients and assist providers with clinical needs during visits.
- 3Perform EKGs, injections, and specimen collection following protocols.
- 4Update patient records in the EMR system accurately and promptly.
- 5Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures.
- 6Educate patients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- 7Coordinate referrals, lab orders, and diagnostic tests with external providers.
- 8Reconcile medications and review patient histories for accuracy.
- 9Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of recent Medical Assistant experience, ideally in Family Practice or Primary Care.
- 2Medical Assistant diploma, transcripts, or state certification.
- 3BLS certification through the American Heart Association or willingness to obtain.
- 4Hands-on experience with EMR systems.
- 5Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology.
- 6Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- 7Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- 8Professional appearance and a positive, patient-focused attitude.
