Overview
The Medical Assistant performs direct patient care activities such as lab tests treatments and medication administration under the direction of the Nurse or physician. This role supports the physician practice through clerical and quality control tasks. It also serves as a resource for clinical staff.
What You'll Do12
- 1Deliver direct patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- 2Assist with collecting patient healthcare data including vitals weight and chief complaints
- 3Complete patient care treatments and testing as ordered
- 4Maintain accurate documentation and code entries
- 5Prepare patients for examinations and provide pre- and post-examination education
- 6Perform clerical functions such as answering telephone calls and managing messages
- 7Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information
- 8Label all patient specimens and adhere to infection control protocols
- 9Assist in survey readiness and report out-of-range information to supervisors
- 10Schedule surgeries procedures and testing
- 11Provide patient safety education and counseling
- 12Prepare charts and perform routine laboratory tasks like phlebotomy and result documentation
Requirements11
- 1High School Diploma GED or higher education
- 2Certification such as CPC Card BCBA or AWS Certified
- 35+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 4Current Basic Life Support CPR and AED training
- 5License and certification with Act 33 34 73 clearance
- 6Northern Market Family experience Southern Market
- 7Current Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) program
- 8Knowledge of legal aspects of nursing practice
- 9Ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences
- 10Previous outpatient office experience
- 11One year Medical Assistant program or EMT Paramedic certification
