Overview

You will own patient care in a fast-paced family medicine clinic, performing rooming, vitals, and in-office procedures at Atrium Health Cabarrus. You will support a team of providers with EHR documentation and clinical workflows. This role blends hands-on patient interaction with lab and administrative duties. You will work Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with one half-day off weekly. This position offers full benefits and a clear path for professional growth in a leading health system.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Room patients and perform vital signs, medication reconciliation, and health screenings including depression and fall risk.
  • 2Assist providers with in-office procedures and administer medications and vaccines safely.
  • 3Perform venipuncture and specimen collection, labeling, and packing for lab send-out.
  • 4Run CLIA waived point-of-care tests and document results in EHR.
  • 5Manage patient messaging, medication refills, insurance authorizations, and referrals.
  • 6Maintain exam rooms and equipment, ensuring supplies are stocked and sterilization standards are met.
  • 7Train and onboard new teammates as a primary trainer after completing the system program.
  • 8Participate in safety and regulatory log completion and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements8

  • 1High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training.
  • 22+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a practice setting.
  • 3Current AHA BLS certification required.
  • 4Certified or registered as an CMA or RMA by AAMA, AMT, or other recognized body.
  • 5Proficiency with electronic medical records systems and standard computer skills.
  • 6Ability to lift 35 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and reaching.
  • 7Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • 8Willingness to wear protective equipment and handle blood and body fluids safely.
