Medical Assistant I – Outpatient Behavioral Health
Overview
You will support psychiatrists and therapists in a Glen Mills outpatient clinic, handling virtual and in-person patient care for a multidisciplinary behavioral health team. You will manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, and scheduling while performing clinical tasks like EKGs, injections, and vitals. This role offers a predictable Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays, plus first-day health coverage and 32 days of PTO. You will work alongside board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers dedicated to comprehensive mental health care.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet and prepare patients for virtual and in-person visits, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
- 2Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, injections, and basic lab tests, and assist physicians during exams.
- 3Maintain exam rooms and equipment, stocking supplies and ensuring a clean, safe environment.
- 4Update EMR records accurately, documenting patient interactions and vital signs.
- 5Manage patient communications, including phone calls, messages, and follow-up instructions.
- 6Coordinate referrals and authorizations with insurance companies and specialty providers.
- 7Schedule appointments and manage the provider's calendar, optimizing patient flow.
- 8Troubleshoot video visit technology and support patients with portal access and navigation.
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification from an NCCA or ANSI accredited organization.
- 3Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
- 4Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- 5Ability to perform clinical duties such as taking vitals, administering injections, and running EKGs.
- 6Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- 7Flexibility to travel to other locations if needed.
- 8Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
