Medical Administrative Assistant, Prescriber Support
Overview
You will own prescriber administrative support at a mental health clinic, managing patient coordination, medical records, and medication workflows. You will work on-site in Boston, supporting a team of providers and patients. As part of Transformations Care Network, you will collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations. What You'll Do10
- 1Answer phone calls and respond to voicemails, guiding patients through telehealth and portal troubleshooting.
- 2Process medication prior authorizations and support refill requests.
- 3Prepare documents and correspondence for providers, including forms and paperwork.
- 4Manage patient scheduling, financial responsibilities, and insurance updates.
- 5Document patient interactions in EMR systems accurately.
- 6Coordinate care between patients and providers, including managing waitlists.
- 7Help train new team members on administrative procedures.
- 8Track completion of required paperwork for patient files.
- 9Follow processes for on-site medication handling and regulatory compliance.
- 10Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, and attend required trainings.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2CPR certified or willing to become certified within 6 months of start.
- 3Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work in stressful situations.
- 4Computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft applications and multi-line phone systems.
- 5Patient and empathetic attitude with strong time management and organization.
- 6Experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred).
- 7Experience in a medical office or call center (preferred).
- 8Experience verifying insurance, obtaining pre-authorizations, and scheduling for multiple providers (preferred).
- 9Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and EMR (preferred).
- 10Data entry skills and understanding of medical terminology and clinical pharmacology (preferred).
Salary Insight
