What You'll Do10
- 1Build patient intake and care workflows to support exams and procedures
- 2Assist providers with examinations and diagnostic testing to improve visit efficiency
- 3Collect specimens, perform basic lab tests and point of care testing to support timely results
- 4Prepare medications and manage inventory, labeling and storage in accordance with policies
- 5Dispose of bio-hazardous materials and maintain infection control standards in exam rooms
- 6Process prescription refills and prior authorizations within authorized protocols
- 7Screen calls and document clinical messages to ensure accurate provider follow-up
- 8Support documentation and patient education for tests, medications, and health maintenance
- 9Clean, restock exam rooms and support cycle counting of controlled substances as applicable
- 10Adhere to OSHA safety rules and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and staff safety
Requirements5
- 1Current CMA or RMA certification from AAMA or AMT, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- 2Ability to obtain required Medical Assistant Certification if hired before 11/30/2021 within one year
- 3Proven understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- 4Willingness to adhere to hospital policies and safety procedures including OSHA standards
- 5Experience in a clinical or medical office environment is preferred
