Medical Assistant, HemOnc Ambulatory Infusion Center - Part Time
Overview
Own patient care across clinic and infusion center settings with rotating shifts in a fast paced pediatric environment. 0.5 FTE role supporting clinical and administrative tasks under licensed oversight. This position blends clinic and infusion center duties and emphasizes strong patient interaction, documentation accuracy, and teamwork.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build patient care routines by measuring vital signs and documenting in the EHR
- 2Perform electrocardiograms and pulmonary function tests and collect laboratory specimens
- 3Prepare and administer medications under supervision and ensure proper labeling and storage
- 4Assist providers during exams and procedures and remove sutures or change dressings
- 5Disseminate patient instructions for examinations and tests and maintain infection control standards
- 6Process prescription refills and prior authorizations and communicate with pharmacies
- 7Maintain exam rooms, restock supplies, and handle medication reconciliation in the EHR
- 8Support HIPAA compliant communication and maintain professional conduct
- 9Serve as a witness to cycle counting and waste management where applicable
- 10Collaborate interdepartmentally to uphold Phoenix Children`s mission and values
Requirements5
- 1CMA or RMA certification from AAMA or AMT required within 90 days
- 2Current BLS certification for Health Care Professionals from AHA
- 3Graduate of a CAAHEP/ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent
- 4Experience working in clinic and infusion center settings preferred
- 5Ability to work five eight-hour shifts per pay period and rotate between locations
