What You'll Do11
- 1Coordinate patient care under provider supervision using a team-based approach
- 2Prepare and room patients following standardized clinical workflows
- 3Obtain vital signs and document patient histories including tobacco use and medication screening
- 4Administer depression screening tools and perform annual wellness visits
- 5Review and update medication lists in the electronic health record
- 6Process orders for screenings and prescriptions based on AHN protocols
- 7Perform back office testing and assist providers during examinations
- 8Serve as a scribe with additional training
- 9Provide patient follow-up through telephone or electronic communication
- 10Notify patients of test results promptly according to provider instructions
- 11Maintain organized exam rooms and manage medical supply inventory
Requirements5
- 1Graduated from a medical assistant program within five years or have one year of relevant work experience
- 2Hold a recognized medical assistant certification such as NHA or AAMA
- 3Complete certification training within 30 days of hire if meeting experience requirements
- 4Possess current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- 5Submit proof of criminal background clearance including child abuse verification
