Mechanical Engineer, Space Systems & I&T
Overview
Owns mechanical integration and test activities for space vehicle systems at scale within a leading aerospace program. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and oversee mechanical build and production operations for space hardware
- 2Design and implement test procedures and processes for I&T activities
- 3Coordinate test activities with a team of engineers to ensure system health
- 4Analyze test results and make determinations on hardware health and performance
- 5Lead and mentor a team of engineers in mechanical operations and manufacturing
- 6Apply 5S FOD ESD and Six Sigma/Lean practices to improve production
- 7Use 3D modeling and drawing tools for design modeling and fabrication
- 8Collaborate across space vehicle subsystems to validate end-to-end performance
- 9Ensure safety constraints and hazards are identified and mitigated
- 10Support test planning and execution within DoD Top Secret program requirements
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's Degree in STEM and 2 years of related experience OR Master's Degree and 0 years of experience
- 2Active DoD Top Secret clearance required at time of application
- 3Ability to obtain and retain SCI and/or SAP clearances
- 4Experience in integration, test, mechanical operations, or manufacturing
- 5Preferred: 5+ years in mechanical/integration/test for space vehicles
- 6Experience with 3-D modeling tools and flight spacecraft testing
- 7Knowledge of 5S/FOD, ESD and Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing techniques
- 8Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- 9Ability to work in Gilbert AZ on a 9/80 schedule
