Electrical Systems Engineer Chandler AZ Space Sector
Overview
Own the system electrical architecture and interfaces for complex aerospace platforms at scale on site in Chandler AZ. You will define and document electrical interfaces, support trade studies, and manage requirements from system to component level. Collaborate across Systems Engineering, Electrical, Avionics, Software, and Integration & Test to ensure traceability and conformance. This role offers opportunities to influence architecture decisions and verification planning in a tight, mission critical environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and refine the system electrical architecture including power distribution and data buses to meet system objectives
- 2Define and document electrical interfaces between subsystems and ensure ICDs reflect system requirements
- 3Participate in trade studies on architecture, components, and interface strategies
- 4Analyze communication flows and timing across electrical and avionics networks to meet mission needs in the first 90 days
- 5Coordinate with subsystem owners to align timing, data exchange, and performance with system requirements
- 6Identify and mitigate timing, loading, or signal integrity risks through cross‑functional collaboration
- 7Translate system requirements into testable electrical requirements and maintain bidirectional traceability
- 8Lead or support design reviews and change control sessions related to electrical interfaces and architecture
- 9Contribute to verification plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria for electrical implementations
- 10Support HW bring‑up, interface checkout, and end‑to‑end functional tests in integration and test activities
Requirements10
- 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline; 3 years with a Masters for Level 3
- 28 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline; 6 years with a Masters for Level 4
- 3ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- 4experience with electrical systems engineering including requirements development and interface documentation
- 5familiarity with LVDS RS‑422/485 MIL‑STD‑1553 SpaceWire CAN Ethernet or similar
- 6experience defining and managing electrical interfaces and ICDs across subsystems
- 7experience with Systems Engineering fundamentals including requirements management verification and design reviews
- 8willingness to travel as required
- 9active DoD Secret clearance preferred
- 10BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
